Blessing of the Backpacks

Again this year, we will have Blessing of the Backpacks during morning worship on Sunday, September 12th. All students, preschool-college, bring your backpacks and place them on the altar as you come into the sanctuary for morning worship. We will have a special time in the service to pray for all our students, teachers, administrators, faculty, and staff. 

We will once again offer a mission component this year. We encourage those who can to fill a backpack (one you purchase) with school supplies. You will bring your filled backpack on the morning of Backpack Blessing and place it on the altar. We will have prayer for those students who will receive them. 

If you are not yet able to worship in person, you may drop off your backpacks in the bins located outside of the church office. The donated backpacks will then go to the homeless students in the Richmond County School system. We pray that you will participate in this worthy mission project.
